That is possible. It is like working with any other company. This not exactly self-employment, we (myself +my wife) have created own corporation with my wife has president and me as employee (Both of us have EAD). So then start working for that company. No need to inform USCIS, it is like working with any other company. Again i am still working in same or simlar job description per Labor/I140. It is verymuch legal and we are paying taxes too!!! .
oh yeah! it is legal i know that... however, i consulted lawyers on this and they were of the opinion that it is best to have a straight case where you are working for a large us corp. essentially, uscis can question if the company has enough work to sustain employing a person on a "permanent basis". that "permanent basis" appears to be one of the criteria for approval of labor/perm, I140 etc... thats why my query to you. it seems ability to pay can also be a question, however, that is not supposed to be brought up during adjudication of 485... so you are safe there...

I have received my GC on January 28th. My company filled the following with USCIS:
I140 was filled on Nov. 21 2007 and Approved on Jan 24th 2008
I485 was filled on Nov. 21 2007 and Approved on Jan 20th 2008
Now... some people say to me to wait 180 days to quit my current job (which is paying me half of what I should be earning as a GC holder), some people say it is okay to leave at anytime....
So, I don't know what to do, I pretend to become a citzen in 5 years also, and not sure if this will count bad towards that.
I have some reasons to leave: sallary is low (they will not negociate more), wife is pregnant and I am getting a mortgage.
Please advice.

Yes, I called Customer Service first thing this morning and I think I was lucky enough to talk to an IO. I think she was an IO because she had access to all the information and she confirmed that the older PD is in effect.

When you filed I485 , you have to send a copy of the I140. If you had sent in the one with the old PD then thats what USCIS will go by.
Call USCIS custonmer service and see what they tell you.

I don't think an employer can force you to repay the green card costs if you leave them as soon as you get it. That is illegal and against the law to make a foreign national pay for the costs of green card sponsorship!

As long as a person is meek and weak, that's what we get - Nothing. With AOS pending, every person in most states are bound to get 1 year renewal..Period. Be forceful but polite in expressing it. Take it to the next level - Supervisor.Ask what they mean or definition of "old I-485". Tell them you are Paying all Taxes (Federal, state, Social, Medicare.... ).
By the time you come hear, mostly probably, the agent might have approved a 1 year Renewal.
Seems FAIR is slowly creeping into DMV also.
Do u think, we did't do that.. We did everything possibly we could but of no help and been to three diffrent DMV's.. same old crap.. This seems to be a bigger problem than getting GC.. now we will be restrictited of driving too??
By the time you come hear, mostly probably, the agent might have approved a 1 year Renewal.

We have received our I-485 receipts(me and spouse). On my receipt just below "Amount Received" there is a this tag called "Section". It is answered as "UNKNOWN" on both of our receipts.
My friends is answered differently. His is from TSC and mine are from NSC.
Does any of you know what does "UNKNWON" mean and what consequences it might have.

Thanks for the confirmation that this is better confirmed and cleared out rather than face unnecessary delays. I have called them and re-requested an update of my address on phone -- NEED to wait another 45 days to receive a letter from USCIS, if not, apparently only then can I get an Infopass appointment. Lets see.
My Friend it does matters - Here is why - Although I changed my address online & got confirmation number every time I moved to different place - what happened was the RFE issued on my case was addressed to the place where I filed my application. Since then I moved to two different places and every time I moved I did update my address online promptly. Since RFE was posted to the old address as a result of the mail was fwd to all places where I lived in the past and finally delivered to my current address. Thanks to online status that I came to know RFE was issued on case with deadline. I received the RFE letter just about 3 days to respond. When we talked to CIS CSR about this the answer was that the IO who worked on my case got old address that was mentioned on my application itself and did not refer the address change made online. With help of my employer and attorney we were able to respond within the deadline date. I would call them and make sure the correct address and ask for confirmation letter from CIS. Hope this helps!

Your 180 days start from the day your I-94 expired. And yes, 2 weeks or 4 weeks over stay will make a difference. Next time when you enter the country or at the Visa office they might ask you the reason.

any Notarized document is as good as oringinals, Please get signed all your certificate copies showing the originals to a Notary Public, I think this should work. If you decide to send originals attach a self paid courier (Fed-ex)(to address yours) USCIS will never send back the document otherwise. I remember previously the H1B visa stamping was in US itself to get the passport back we need to send a self addressed FED-EX cover pre-paid.

any Notarized document is as good as oringinals, Please get signed all your certificate copies showing the originals to a Notary Public, I think this should work. If you decide to send originals attach a self paid courier (Fed-ex)(to address yours) USCIS will never send back the document otherwise. I remember previously the H1B visa stamping was in US itself to get the passport back we need to send a self addressed FED-EX cover pre-paid.

Managing the business comes under employment authorization whether or not salary is drawn by the owner.

the CIS takes 90 days to issue the EAD cards; don�t panic as you and your wife are in valid status and not in violation of any rules because you have timely filed your applications for adjustment of status and your status (H1B and H4) are still current

If you invest more than 1 million(like bechams hollywood hills home) in US you are eligible to apply for a greencard
You're a bit confused. To get investor's visa, you need to invest either in certain underdeveloped areas (half a million will be sufficient), or you need to create a certain number of jobs with your investment/business. I wonder, however, if one would qualify by buying an expensive house and providing jobs for 10+ people maintaining your house on a full-time basis. :)
