That video is disgusting for a million reasons, which have all already been brought up in this thread, so I won't bring them up again. I'm glad the victim is all right, I was worried there might be some serious damage.
Also, just wanted to weigh in on the "big hands" thing - I'm a woman, born a woman, never any question about it, but my hands are as big as most men's, especially considering I'm only 5'4". So are you going to beat me up just in case I'm a man?
I'll just put this out there: People who freak you out are not necessarily a threat to you, no matter how much they freak you out. And just because someone's sexual/gender preferences are outside your definition of normal does NOT mean that they're a frigging pedophile. That is such a leap in logic it's making my head spin. It's also really offensive. It's just as offensive as if I assumed that because of your race (whatever it is), you're more likely to molest MY child. That's not fair, is it? Doesn't make sense, does it? So you shouldn't make that assumption about a transgender person, either.
And don't give me any of this "race isn't a choice but gender is" BS. That's a common excuse and it's an incorrect assumption. Nobody would choose to live as a gender they didn't identify with if they didn't feel they needed to. If you've ever lived and struggled with something you were mortified to let anyone know, you'd have more sympathy for this transgendered woman. It must be nice to be you, but not everybody has it so great. Show a little empathy and don't automatically assume everyone is out to get you.
Oh, and using the "you don't have kids so you don't know" argument is the biggest load of ********* I can imagine. But it's nice to know that when I'm finally a parent, it means I can become an absolutely horrible human being. No better role model for a kid than a close-minded bigot, I always say.

Yeah, I would estimate my dropped call rate is around 20-30% (Northern Virginia) sometimes higher depending on the day. They said they built a new tower near me, but ever since I got that message, my coverage has dropped at least one to two bars everywhere I go.
Same here in Northern VA...this in addition to the 3.1 bugs is just maddening...enough to drive me to another carrier. Waiting on some Android phones to be released with VZW...Sprint has the the new HTC hero as well. Might be about the closest thing to an iPhone that won't drop my damn calls.

If this patent is anything close to reality, Apple may be prepping something much bigger than an iPod, something closer to a full-featured OS X tablet computer. You'll be running a full-featured version of iTunes, not just the simplified UI of the iPod:

Regardless if you believe that you can install Vista Home under VMWare or Parallels, the real legal problem is MS has put VMWare and Parallels under legal notice that they may not write their software to allow the operation of Vista Home under their products, else they will be sued for contributory infringement.
So, technical theory aside, if MS has the legal right to restrict such behavior, there will be no way VMWare or Parallels will produce such software, otherwise MS will sue them out of existence.

People get beat up for no reason all the time. It doesn't have to do anything with bullying or the victim being a transgender. From what the victim said, the attackers used a standard "excuse" to start a fight. ("Why are you talking to my man?", if I understood correctly.)

Ok, well, yes, it's not on the VMware site. It's a copy from a user that recieved the Beta copy and then posted it on a file site for others to download.
If I seen that it had issues with the download I would not have posted the link, but that does not say that there could be some issues for some odd reason.
Anyways, I have been using it myself without an issue, but as "Westside guy" stated use your own caution doing so.
I can understand the concern. If you want to wait for an invite or full release, then do so.
I'm loving the program and will be buying it as soon as it is release (that is if there is a cost to it or not)

The 3G iPod did not have physical feedback, and they worked.
Although it still isn't perfect - if you listen to music in the dark (I often listen to music in bed), it's difficult to find the buttons without pressing the wrong one. The 1G iPod was better in this regard.

I'm going to speculate here. Lion is the eighth release of OS X. Perhaps the ninth release will support touchscreens and iOS apps.
I envision something like the Macbook Air with a touchscreen and reversible hinge (like the early 2000s Windows tablets, but a much cleaner design) that could run OS X and iOS apps. The Air is already not much bigger than an iPad.
Now, if Apple is internally working on something like this, and wanted to test existing apps from the store, then the alpha OS would need to be supported in the store. Of course, Apple probably intended to hide the string that IDs the compatibility, but sometimes mistakes happen.
Or, of course, the whole thing could be an accident/bug and it means nothing at all.

Do some google searches on the pros and cons. The glossy has a sharper image with brighter colors. It even has less glare under some circumstances.

But I find these news a bit odd. Or rather... This decision. That date would put it so close to the iPhone 5 that I wonder how much it'll be worth the effort. But maybe the iPhone 5 cases will be so similar that most of the manufacturing process will simply be reused in that revision. In that case, Apple can just as well introduce it for the iPhone 4. :)

Apple has proven that market share does not = profitability. I think Apple's focus is right.
I don't see how market share helps Amazon, in this case, if they are losing money on it and have no off-setting profit generated by the loss.
Also, I wonder when this comes into effect. I was just at the Amazon store and most the music I looked at was at $1.29 or $.99 a song - I only saw one $.69 song. Of course, my tastes don't trend toward a lot of pop.

So instead, the new sidebar pushes into the image, reducing it in size, and requiring you to expand the width ( :eek: ) of the window if you want to keep the image the same size. I don't really see the overall difference. I suppose it comes down to whether you prefer the images to get slightly smaller, or the tray to suddenly cover over other things.
